The goal of the Boston Buddhist Vihara (NEBV & MC) Dhamma School is to provide children who attend with knowledge of the doctrine of the Buddha, so that they become enriched with it and develop into virtuous individuals as they grow older. The school provides the foundation for them to become fruitful members of the society with compassionate minds.
To accomplish this valuable objective the Center offers lessons of Dhamma to all who wish to learn the Buddha’s teachings. The school runs from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm on alternate Saturdays. The age range of admittance to the Dhamma School is from 5 yrs to 18 yrs. Classes are conducted by the resident monks as well as volunteers from the community.
The Dhamma school classes begin by seeking refuge in the Buddha, Dhamma and the Sangha by reciting the five precepts in Pāli. The school year runs from January to December and registration is required for all new students.
