Annual Kathina Ceremony 2015

We cordially invite you to attend the 2015 Annual Kathina Ceremony of our temple on Saturday, October 3rd 2015 at the temple premises.

This year's sponsors of the Kathina ceremony are Upul, and Lakmini Jayasundara family with the help of all other members of the NEBV&MC.
This is the traditional ceremony when we offer robes to the monks to mark the end of the Vassana retreat (retreat during the rainy season). On this auspicious day, there will be a Sanghika Dana (offering of alms as mid-day meal and other necessities). The visiting monks from different states of USA and other countries will participate in this.

One-Day Meditation Program

There will be one day meditation retreat on September 19, 2015 at the New England Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center, Grafton, MA conducted by Ven. Kurunegoda Dhammaloka. If you are willing to participate in this program, kindly register for it by using the following link or giving a phone call to the temple. Prior registration is required for providing the lunch to the participants.

Summer Dhamma Camp

Sunday - September 20, 2015

This years youth summer dhamma camp will be held at the temple on September 20th, 2015. Venerable Dhammaloka is a (Bhikku) monk in the Theravada tradition. He was originally from Sri Lanka. He has taught meditation, Yoga and has counseled mainly young adults in Sri Lanka. Ven. Dhammaloka has a particular interest in what is common to all traditions and all schools of Buddhism. He currently teaches Meditation, Buddhism and Yoga in the United States and frequently travels around the world.

Vesak Day Celebration

Saturday, May 16

A special Vesak Day celebration was held at the New England Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center, Grafton on Saturday, May 16th, 2015 from 4 p.m – 9 p.m The program details:

Children's Religious program (4 p.m – 6 p.m)
4 p.m. Observance of the Eight Precepts (All children)
Dhamma program (ages 7+)
Crafts (Vesak cards, Buddhist flag etc.) (Ages 1 – 6)
Sil Pavaranaya
We request all children to be in proper attire for the sil program. Comfortable clothing which covers the body is suggested. White is preferred.
Evening Program (from 6 p.m – 9 p.m)
6 p.m. Buddha Puja
Presentations by students of Dhamma School
Bhakthi gee (Devotional songs)
Dansela and lighting of Vesak lanterns
Silent auction – will start at 4.00 p.m.
